Former Batgirl Writer Has Been Accused of Grooming Teenage Girls

The saying "never meet your heroes" has been around for eternity but that phrase has become so much more true in recent years. J.K. Rowling has outed herself as a TERF and now, it looks like Batgirl co-writer Cameron Stewart may have been grooming teenage girls. Recently, a number of tweets came up about Stewart being a creep and they are hard to read, especially if you liked any of his comic books, especially Batgirl.

Artist and model Aviva Mai brought up how Stewart groomed her when she was 16 while he was in his 30's back in 2009. They flirted by text and even went on a date. It took her a long time to realize what was actually happening to her and she hopes that young women are more aware of this when they are around him since a lot of his comics are aimed at that demographic.

Writer and cartoonist Kate Leth confirmed this as well, saying that it happened to her when she was 19. Actress Natasha Negovanlis said she has similar stories but isn't comfortable talking about it right now. There's more and it's disappointing to know about this behavior from Stewart since a lot of his comics are geared towards women.

CBR noted that Cameron Stewart has locked his Twitter and Instagram posts. Stewart is innocent until proven guilty but when these many people have stories about you, it says a lot. This doesn't mean you should burn all of your Batgirl comics but please try and be better to each other.
