First Shazam! Trailer Will Reportedly Debut in SDCC

Wonder Woman 1984 might be the most hyped up DC movie coming out in 2019 but there are still plenty of fans excited for Shazam. Formerly known as Captain Marvel, Shazam has the potential to be one of DC's better movies and could even set the stage for Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam. Now that we have an official image from the movie, one question remains; when is the trailer coming out?

In a now-deleted Instagram post (via Screen Rant), cinematographer Maxime Alexandre stated that the film's first trailer would debut during SDCC 2018. Whether the information was false or Alexandre pulled the trigger too quickly isn't known but it did lead to a quick deletion from the social media site.

Considering how big SDCC usually is, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if we saw trailers for every major comic book movie coming out. This is the biggest comic-con of the year after all, so it would be fitting to see DC's latest attempt at a movie franchise get a trailer in the event. Here is hoping that it actually happens and we finally get to see how Zachary Levi handles his role as Shazam.

Shazam hits theaters on April 5, 2019.
