First PlayStation 5 Game Revealed During The Game Awards

While kind of disappointing when it comes to big-name games, The Game Awards was pretty notable for revealing the Xbox Series X and one of its first exclusives, Hellblade 2: Senua's Saga. As we wait for Sony to reveal their PlayStation 5, the company and Gearbox Software, the creators of Borderlands, unveiled a new game called Godfall, which will be launching exclusively in the next-gen console and the Epic Games Store.

During The Game Awards, it was revealed that the game would be a "looter slasher," which makes it similar to Borderlands except players will be slashing their way to loot instead of just shooting people. The game will also be an over-the-shoulder action game if its trailer is anything to go by. Going with that camera would be a good decision since Diablo III is arguably a "looter slasher" as well.

It doesn't look too different from a PlayStation 4 game if we're being honest, though the title is an early PlayStation 5 title. Granted, the graphics are far from bad and it will be interesting to see what exactly differentiates a PlayStation 5 game from a PlayStation 4 game. Plus, even if the console doesn't do well at launch, we still have our PS4 games to play in it.

Godfall is expected to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5, currently scheduled for a late 2020 release, just like the console.
