Final Fantasy XIV Might Finally be Coming to Xbox One

Ever since Final Fantasy XIV was rechristened as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the game has become one of the biggest online MMORPGs out there. Currently available on the PS4, PS3, and PC, many fans have been wondering if it would ever come to the Xbox One since the system has had a resurgence in Final Fantasy games as of late. It looks like Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn could be coming to the system soon.

During X019 (via The Verge), Xbox Head Phil Spencer revealed that they are in negotiations with Square Enix to bring Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn to their console. The fact that they are bringing Phantasy Star Online 2 to the Xbox One, a feat no one saw coming, must have given them some leverage. It also helps that they have a number of Final Fantasy games on their system now, most of which will be a part of the Xbox Game Pass.

"I wanted you to know, rest assured that we will be bringing that game to Xbox...we have a great relationship with Yoshida-san and we're working through what it means to bring [to Xbox] a cross-platform MMO that they've run for years."

A Realm Reborn has been hailed as one of the very best Final Fantasy games ever released, even when compared to the acclaimed single-player games. The fact that it has such a good story and is still an MMORPG is a big accomplishment, especially when compared to such legendary titles like Final Fantasy VII.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is currently available on PS4 and PC.
