Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Get Bundled Together for Nintendo Switch Release

Ask most kids who grew up in the ‘90s which Final Fantasy they grew up with and they'll probably tell you it was either Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VIII. This is why fans are currently pleased with Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, the latter of which many figured was never going to be made.

If you haven't played the original version of Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VIII yet, you're in luck; Square Enix Asia is planning a Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered double-pack for Nintendo Switch. This physical package will put the remastered versions of both PlayStation classics into one cartridge, which is expected but still good news. After all, Capcom can't even fit Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 in one cartridge.

Keep in mind that this is the remastered version of Final Fantasy VII and not the remake, so this only has slightly enhanced character models and a few quality of life improvements. The game is, admittedly, a bit dated these days but you can still see why it's a classic JRPG that fans still praise to this day.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered actually does have newer character models, which are a huge improvement over the original games, though still aren't major improvements. Yes, you can now make out the faces of Squall and Rinoa but that doesn't mean it's a better-looking game than something like Final Fantasy X.

The Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered double pack is coming to Nintendo Switch sometime this year. You will need to pre-order this game through Play-Asia if you're residing in the US.
