Final Fantasy VII Remake Spotlights Aerith’s Tempest Ability

Final Fantasy VII Remake isn't that far away, literally coming to the PS4 three months from now and fans are already freaking out. While most friends are canceling their trips so they can start pre-ordering the Collector's Edition, Square Enix has decided to give fans a sneak peek at one of Aerith's signature maneuvers: Tempest.

Tempest is a skill with a lot of variety and will add a layer of strategy in combat, which a lot of fans have mistaken for a button mash-fest, though that could still happen. Anyway, Tempest can keep charging for increased damage, steal MP so that Aerith can use more Materia, or even use a magic shield that will protect Aerith from attacks. There's a lot of uses for Tempest and it's up to fans to use it wisely.

While Tifa is still the waifu, Aerith is a pretty great character in her own right and Tempest is a pretty great move for her. Most of us used Aerith as the Materia girl in the original game, where she would switch from healing our teammates or shooting offensive spells and Tempest was a move we all used back then as well. Good stuff.

Despite only covering the Midgar portion of the original game, which is only a third of disc 1, Final Fantasy VII Remake continues to be one of the better-looking titles coming out in 2020. Let's hope the length is longer than expected and we all end up loving this game. The game is scheduled for a March 3, 2020, release on PS4.
