Fantastic Beasts 2, Harry Potter Fans Are Livid Over A Familiar Character Coming To The Film

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald looks like an awesome sequel to the first film in the franchise, which took a lot of people by surprise with its solid premise and decent enough script. The sequel seems to be expanding on the lore of Harry Potter even more than the first, introducing a young Dumbledore and Nagini, the latter of whom raised plenty of controversies.

It looks like the controversy won't be stopping, as a recent report claimed that a younger version of Minerva McGonagall will supposedly be in the movie as well. This has a lot of fans steamed since the movie is set in the late 20's and McGonagall was born in 1935, which has a lot of loyal Harry Potter readers pulling their hair out.

Normally, fans would be appreciative of a film that showcased a younger McGonagall but messing with the timeline like this is just ridiculous. Then again, Spider-Man: Homecoming claimed that the other Marvel movies are set in the far future, so they might warm up to it over time. That or McGonagall will be in the movie via time travel shenanigans, which could cause even more controversy.

With the movie coming out this month, fans won't have to wait long before they either rejoice at the film's quality or rage against the decisions being made. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has already been under a lot of heat for adding Johnny Depp and making Nagini Asian, so this could make it more problematic.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald comes out on November 16.
