Fans Rejoice Over the Return of Fat Pikachu in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Fans might have mixed opinions about the Gigantamax and Dynamax features of Pokemon Sword and Shield but they did reveal one good thing; the return of fat Pikachu. Don't get me wrong, Pikachu was still cute when they slimmed it down but pretty much everyone thought chunky Pikachu was the cutest. Thanks to Gigantamax Pikachu, the fans have gone crazy about this Pokemon gaining weight.

Many fans online have rejoiced about the return of fat Pikachu/thicc Pikachu/Thiccachu. I personally call it Pikachonk but let's not get into that. The point is, we do love this giant Pikachu paying tribute to the thick stomach and cheeks it once had back when Pokemon Yellow Version was a thing. Check out some of the awesome fan reactions below.

There's just something absolutely adorable about this chunky Pokemon walking around and saying "Pika Pika." Granted, Gigantamax Pikachu isn't going to do much aside from battle it out. While it's kind of a shame that fat Pikachu is only available as a giant, it's definitely better than nothing.

It's not just Thiccachu fans should be excited about. Other Gigantamax Pokemon include a hellish-looking Charizard, a Mothra-inspired Butterfree, and a Meowth based on...something. While this was kind of fun, here's hoping that we get the evolutions of the Sword and Shield starters soon.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are coming to Nintendo Switch on November 15.
