Dynasty Warriors Developer Wants to Work on Star Wars and...Mario?

Koei Tecmo continues to remain a divisive company thanks to their Dynasty Warriors games. Still, the fact that millions of fans continue to buy these games show that the company and/or genre have a place in the medium, despite how some fans think their games are disgustingly easy. With the upcoming release of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition on the Switch, fans are curious about what's next for the company.

Fans know that Warriors Orochi 4 is on the way (Warriors Orochi 3 in Japan), but when the company was interviewed by Kotaku they revealed two franchises they were interested in; Star Wars and Mario.

Them wanting to work on a Star Wars game is nothing new but it's still a fantasy worth thinking about. How fun would it be if players were given a Star Wars: Jedi Warriors game? Letting players kill droids, stormtroopers, and even resistance members in droves? It would be awesome.

Mario, on the other hand, is a different beast entirely and trying to bring that character into the Warriors-style of gameplay would be hard to imagine. Granted, there are enough enemies and characters to base a Warriors spin-off on but it's just an odd combination. Then again, Mario has done tennis and kart-racing, so the sky's the limit for the Nintendo mascot.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition comes out on May 18.
