Dragon Ball: Project Z is Now Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Comes Out in Early 2020

Dragon Ball: Project Z has officially been unveiled as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and if that title means anything, it looks like this game will completely focus on Goku. The new trailer puts an emphasis on this, showing some of Goku's biggest fights in the early parts of Z, from his epic fights with Nappa and Vegeta to the planet-destroying showdown between Frieza.

Kakarot looks to have a similar battle system to Xenoverse, in that Goku can fly around the environment to dodge attacks or zoom into his opponents for some pain. However, the game does seem to have more cinematic fights ahead for the title since we see Goku evade the Volcano Explosion Nappa previously used on one of the Earth's cities. We also see Goku evade a ton of Frieza's Ki Blasts while in Super Saiyan mode, which looks like one hell of a set piece.

Since CyberConenct 2 is handling this, fans are probably pleased with all of the epic battles that Goku has to go through. If you've seen the company's work in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 and Asura's Wrath, which seriously needs an HD remaster, then you know that the company loves to make jaw-dropping battles that will excite players, even if it deviates from the source material.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be coming out in early 2020, instead of the previously announced 2019 placeholder. As long as the game ends up being great, no one will be complaining.
