Dragon Ball FighterZ: Voice Actor Teases A Yamcha Appearance

Dragon Ball FighterZ is still a long way from release, but fans are already wondering who else will be included in the game. Mainstays like Goku and Vegeta were obvious, but it's not clear if the series' more minor cast members will be joining the game's roster. It looks like Yamcha, the series' punching bag, will be making an appearance in FighterZ, but it's not clear if he will be playable.

Back in June, Yamcha's Japanese voice actor Toru Furuya Tweeted about recording lines for the character. Many assumed it was work for Dragon Ball Super, but when he was asked about it, he stated that he recorded lines for FighterZ. However, he did not state if Yamcha would be a playable character, or if he would just be in the story mode.

Chuck Huber, the voice actor for Android 17 in the English localization, let it slip that he finished recording lines for Dragon Ball FighterZ. While Android 17 is in the game, he only helps out his sister Android 18 in battle and isn't a playable character. It's not clear if Yamcha will be playable, but fans of old-school Dragon Ball would love to see him in the game.

Yamcha has proven to be a good hand-to-hand fighter, especially with his Wolf Fang Fist technique, so he would be a fun addition to the game. He also uses the Kamehameha, which he learned from Master Roshi, and the Spirit Ball. Puar could also help him out, since his friend knows how to shapeshift into people and objects.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is slated for a February 2018 release. The game is being developed by Arc System Works of Guilty Gear fame, hence the gorgeous visuals and fast-paced gameplay.
