Dragon Ball, Attack on Titan, and Hunter x Hunter Studios Team Up for Free Anime YouTube Channel

Anime seems to be more accessible than ever, with multiple streaming services being home to a number of popular shows. However, despite the availability of Netflix, Funimation, Crunchyroll, and more, anime shows continue to be more pirated than ever, likely due to international rights that prevent some of these streaming shows from working in other countries.

To the surprise of many, Toei Animation, Kodansha, Nippon Animation, Tezuka Productions, Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions, and Shinei Animation are joining forces to make a free YouTube channel filled with anime.

Variety revealed that the YouTube channel will be called Animelog and is expected to launch with Black Jack and Future Boy Conan. The studios are hoping to add over 3,000 titles by 2022, so here's hoping shows like Dragon Ball, Attack on Titan, Hunter x Hunter, and more get added by then.

"There exists a problem of illegal video distribution service these days, but "AnimeLog" will distribute only officially-licensed animations and operate as a safe channel that families can enjoy together."

All these companies understand that piracy is still a big issue, hoping that this channel will solve all those problems. While Animelog is only available in Japan right now, there are plans to release the channel in other countries with subtitles for all the shows, which is great for those that hate dubs. Here's hoping some big shows are added as well.
