Doom Patrol Star Wants to be Green Lantern for the DCEU

Doom Patrol has been one of the best comic books shows out, with many feeling that it truly captures the spirit of these weird stories. Whether you like Grant Morrison's iconic run or the recent Young Animals revival from Gerard Way, this DC Universe original gave people a lot to like. Though not connected to the DCEU in any way, series star Diane Guerrero has actually shown interest in playing a character for that cinematic universe; Green Lantern.

Through the official Doom Patrol Twitter, Guerrero revealed that she wants to play the Green Lantern Jessica Cruz for the DCEU. It's not just a fitting role for the actress since she got to voice Cruz for the animated movie Justice League vs The Fatal Five, so the actress is a bit familiar with the character in a sense.

We rarely see talent from DC shows crossover to the movies, though we did see Ezra Miller's Flash in CW's The Flash so anything can happen these days. Plans for Green Lantern in the movies have been slim-to-none aside from an untitled HBO Max project and a Green Lantern Corps movie written by Geoff Johns. Considering how good she was in Doom Patrol and Jane the Virgin, we'd love to see her in the DCEU as Jessica Cruz.

Currently, Doom Patrol Season 2 is still releasing episodes weekly on both DC Universe and HBO Max.
