Don't Expect Man Of Steel 2 Anytime Soon

With Justice League coming out in a few days, fans were surprised to hear about Man of Steel 2 news a few months ago. Reports stated that Warner Bros. wanted Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn to helm the project, which he confirmed quickly. However, talks of the sequel have gone down and it looks like we won't be seeing the film come out anytime soon.

During an interview with New York Times, producer Charles Roven revealed that the film has no script and won't be made anytime soon. While he did mention some story ideas being tossed around, nothing concrete has been decided on. It's not a huge surprise considering the current state of the DCEU, which is a bit of a mess. Aquaman will definitely come out next year and Wonder Woman 2 is still planned for 2019, but films like Flashpoint and Cyborg are still up in the air.

Interestingly enough, Roven did say that Ben Affleck would stay as Batman for the character's solo film. "From everything I know, he's going to play that Batman," Roven said. "They're retooling the script, so I can't really say anything for certain." Fans might want to take it with a grain of salt however since Affleck can't seem to make up his mind about staying as the Dark Knight.

Henry Cavill recently stated that the ‘real Superman' would appear in Justice League, so a Man of Steel sequel could be ideal, especially if Matthew Vaughn directs. Flashpoint discussions have also been inconsistent, with some reports saying Warner Bros. sees Ezra Miller as a star and others claiming that we'll only see it if Justice League is successful.

Justice League comes out on November 17.
