Doctor Manhattan Pulls a Thanos in Doomsday Clock #9 Cover

Doctor Manhattan has finally revealed himself in the pages of Doomsday Clock and it looks like the DC universe may have met its greatest enemy. Revealed as the being who was responsible for de-aging everyone during the New 52, Manhattan is still more powerful than ever and he will not be going down easily. It's a shame that we won't be seeing Wally West in this series but we can't have everything.

In the cover of Doomsday Clock #9, it looks like Manhattan has been watching Avengers: Infinity War as the being makes the Justice League ‘not feel so good.' Simply put, he turns them to ashes and it's really hard to not compare this to Avengers: Infinity War, which came out months before the cover was released. Sure, artist Gary Frank might have worked on this before that film came out but we don't have any proof.

Old-school DC fans will be happy to see the issue's second cover, which has the legendary Legion ring. Fans have been missing the Legion of Superheroes for the longest time since they haven't been seen in the longest time. DC has been planning their comeback in some of their ongoing titles, particularly in Tom King's Batman, so their return should be fun.

Fans have had a mixed reaction to Doomsday Clock and Rebirth as a whole, thanks to the stories like The Button, The Oz Effect, and Superman Reborn. While they aren't completely bad, they did feel like stories DC made because they were out of ideas. Here is hoping that the final Doomsday Clock issues fare better.
