Disney Warns Fans That Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Could Induce Seizures

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is going to be one hell of a ride for fans of the franchise, thanks to a number of returns from older movies, along with the definitive ending for this long-running Skywalker Saga. However, it could be a bumpy ride for certain people, which is why Disney has decided to advise fans that there will be certain parts in the film that could induce seizures.

Yikes.

Disney, through the Epilepsy Foundation, stated that there are parts in the film that feature flashing lights and other special effects that could cause seizures, which is something no one wants. As we wait for more details about the movie, this is a pretty good warning from the company so those that could be epileptic can wait for the Blu-ray or Disney+ release.

This is likely a response to how some felt that The Incredibles 2 had moments in the movie that could cause seizures. The warning gained online traction really quickly, which resulted in malls having cautions in their theaters. It's good to see Disney think ahead and we're sure a bunch of people will appreciate this move on the part of the company.

Here are the steps an epileptic person should take if they're considering watching the movie:

• Ask a friend to watch the movie first
• Take your friend with you when you go see the film to alert you to which scenes contain the flashing lights so you block your eyes during those scenes.
• Teach your friend the three simple steps of seizure first aid — Stay, Safe, Side — so that they can assist if you have a seizure
