Detective Pikachu Writer Wants to Make a Jigglypuff Movie

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu might not be the best movie in the world but it has done something amazing; it is a competently made video game/anime adaptation. The fact that it has a number of decent reviews is considered a miracle for some and we can't wait to see what the future holds for this franchise. Well, if this writer from the film has his way, the next film will star a cute little singer…

So yeah, according to a quick interview with ScreenRant, co-writer Dan Hernandez wants to make a Jigglypuff-centric movie. As if that wasn't enough, they want to make it a dramatic film like A Star is Born, even dubbing the film Jigglypuff: A Star is Born.

Obviously, this is a dream that the puffster can't achieve. Why? Because the Pokemon puts people to sleep as soon as it starts singing. This was a huge part of the anime since a random, wild Jigglypuff would often try to sing to Ash and his friends but would draw on their faces when they fall asleep.

"We love Jigglypuff. I like the weird Pokémon that really want something, and just by their nature, Jigglypuff can never achieve that."

Since Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is still making money, there's a good chance that a sequel or spin-off could still happen. The movie is still showing in theaters, though it could be dethroned by John Wick this weekend.
