Death Stranding Will Be Simultaneously Released on Steam and Epic Games Store

Death Stranding might just be the weirdest game out there, being an odd mix of a walking simulator and open-world game with some action elements. It's pretentiously brilliant and received a ton of mixed reviews upon release, though fans do appreciate how this was all Hideo Kojima's vision and liked how he put his stamp on it. We all knew that the game would be coming to PC next year but fans wondered if they would be able to get it on Steam or if it would be another Epic Games Store exclusive.

Turns out that the game will be simultaneously released for both Steam and Epic, which is a win for PC gamers. Epic Games have taken a number of high-profile titles and made them exclusive to their store, even when they were originally promised for Steam, so this caused a mini-war between PC gamers and some video game developers.

It seems like Hideo Kojima wants to avoid that controversy, which is smart since he already got a lot of funding from Sony when it seemed like the game was going to be a PS4 exclusive. Here is hoping that the porting process doesn't take too long and won't make the game buggy, which tends to happen with a lot of console-to-PC ports.

Fans can pick up Death Stranding now on the PS4 while the Steam and Epic Games versions come out sometime in 2020.
