Deadpool Director Thinks His Kitty Pryde Movie is Dead Now That Disney Owns Fox

Back when the Disney and Fox deal was close to becoming official, it was reported that there would be a Kitty Pryde movie based on the classic X-Men character, with writer Brian Michael Bendis involved in a writing capacity. Tim Miller, the director of Deadpool, would have made the movie and it seemed like the film would have been a fun one for X-Men fans.

Sadly, now that Disney has bought Fox, meaning that the X-Men are going to be a huge part of the MCU's plans, Miller feels like the movie is dead. Speaking with ComicBook.com, Miller did express his love for the movie and how he wants to make it but feels like it won't happen due to the merger. Basically, Marvel and Disney will want to micromanage everything and make sure that everything is cohesive with the MCU.

Here's what Miller had to say about the movie's slim chances of being made, "I love the X-Men. I don't expect Marvel to call me and say, 'Come do the X-Men,' so I'm not waiting for that. I was really excited about my Kitty Pryde movie. F**k, I love that movie. It'll never happen now."

Never say never when it comes to Hollywood movies, though knowing Disney and Marvel, they will want to utilize some recognizable mutants now that the X-Men are in the MCU. While Kitty Pryde is pretty popular, it would be too soon for her to have a solo movie, especially since they will probably focus on Cyclops, Jean Grey, and others first.

Right now, there is no word on when the next X-Men movie will be coming out, with New Mutants looking more dead every day. Black Widow is the next MCU film and is scheduled for a May 1, 2020 release.
