David Tennant Says Killgrave Won't Be Returning for 'Jessica Jones' Season 3

It's going to be the end of an era soon as Jessica Jones season 3 will be the last bit of new Marvel content for Netflix. The show was already canceled along with The Punisher, though Netflix will still air the third season later this year. With this being the final season, fans are hoping that we will see some returning characters like Luke Cage and, everyone's favorite rapist, Killgrave aka The Purple Man.

While it's not yet clear if we'll see Cage, actor David Tennant has stated that Killgrave will not appear in season 3. This is probably a huge shock to many since Tennant was able to add some gravitas and charisma to his role, making a lot of people somehow adore and feel sympathy towards the villain.

Tennant said the following to Entertainment Weekly about the show's cancellation while promoting Good Omens:

"I don't really regard it as a cancellation so much as something having the life that it should have.Three seasons of that story is great. Rather than thinking of it as something that was canceled, I think of it as something that had three seasons that will live in the memory."

Some would argue that Tennant's portrayal of Killgrave is up there with the MCU's best villains, putting him alongside Michael Keaton's Vulture, Michael B. Jordan's Killmonger, and Vincent D'onofrio's Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin. He will definitely be missed.

Jessica Jones season 3 comes to Netflix later this year.
