Dave Filoni Posts Interesting Response to Ahsoka's 'Cameo' in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might have been a flawed movie but fans of the series are going to love the number of callbacks and references that are packed into this film. SPOILERS for The Rise of Skywalker but there's a pretty great moment in the end when Rey says "be with me" and starts hearing the voices of this franchise's greatest Jedi, including Clone Wars and Rebels fan-favorite Ahsoka.

This has made fans assume that Ahsoka has died but Clone Wars and Rebels creator Dave Filoni has a different answer for you. On Twitter, he posted a quick scribble he did of Ahsoka and Gandalf, with the Grey Wizard telling her that people have also thought he was dead and were sorely mistaken. It seems like if Filoni had his way, we would be seeing Ahsoka back in no time.

Ahsoka's quick shout of "Rey" did get fans buzzing, especially since the credits revealed that it was her voice actor who said the line. It would be interesting to see how they bring Ahsoka back, assuming that they do of course. There's actually a long period between the Return of the Jedi film and The Force Awakens so you never know.

Of course, Disney wants to squeeze those nostalgia dollars out of us and I wouldn't be too surprised if we get an inevitable Clone Wars or Rebels movie that brings Ahsoka back to the limelight. Expect Filoni to be "involved," though if we're being serious, he does seem pretty happy about his work on Star Wars.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing in theaters.
