Dave Filoni May Have Teased an Animated Star Wars Character Appearing in The Mandalorian

Dave Filoni is synonymous with Star Wars these days, thanks to his involvement in animated shows like Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars Resistance. Filoni has recently been dipping his toes into live-action Star Wars territory with the upcoming Disney+ show The Mandalorian, which has a lot of people excited. Fans might have found another reason to be excited since Filoni may have teased one of his animated characters appearing in the live-action series.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Filoni gave an interesting statement that won't mean much to those who aren't invested in his animated shows but could be a huge tease for us hardcore fans. Here's his seemingly simple statement that's getting people buzzing, which is probably what Disney wants anyway.

"Having a character you wrote walk up and talk to you in full costume on a set that you imagined, that was a wonderful thing."

While this could simply be a brand-new character that Filoni made for the show, we're all hoping that it's someone from his animated shows. After all, the finale of Rebels revealed that a lot of the show's cast ended up surviving until the end of Return of the Jedi. That would be the ideal scenario but we'll have to wait until November to see if anyone we recognize appears.

Obviously, hoping for Ahsoka to appear is a bit much but we can hope for some cool cameos. Rogue One did show The Ghost, which is a ship from Rebels, so there's always hope for a more interesting cameo from these beloved animated characters. I really want to see these animated characters in live-action just so I can believe that their actions mean something.

The Mandalorian debuts when Disney + launches on November 12.
