DICE Talks Star Wars Battlefront II and Winning Fans Back After the Controversy

Star Wars Battlefront II had one of the worst pre-launches in video game history, with EA and DICE having to do some major revisions before release, even removing microtransactions for a bit. Despite the controversy at the time, Battlefront II is now a great game and most people tend to enjoy the shooter thanks to some fun shooting and the regular updates that are added to the shooter.

However, during an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Battlefront II Design Director Dennis Brännvall mentioned that DICE has not forgotten the controversy that hounded the game. Considering how EA almost lost the license over what happened, or, at the least, had a stern meeting with Disney about, there's no way anyone would forget that controversy. Hell, fans still joke about it today.

These days, it seems like Brännvall is just happy to work on the game and interact with the community. Here's what he has to say:

"The team enjoys working on it (Star Wars Battlefront II) a lot more because you feel like you're building up a community. It feels a lot more personal, and it's just a better game. It's more about improving the game rather than always providing value to the customer, which I think is the approach with a season pass."

While I'm more excited for something like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, there's no doubt that Star Wars Battlefront II is a quality shooter now. More modes, characters, and weapons are coming to the game so fans haven't seen anything yet.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
