DC's Secret Six Reportedly Getting Live-Action Series From CBS

Secret Six was one of DC's best comics at the time so the fact that CBS might be working on a new series based on the anti-hero group should excite fans. Written by Gail Simone, the comic managed to characterize silly characters like Catman and make them more memorable than they were before. It also did a lot of great work with Bane and King Shark, so possibly seeing them in live-action should be fun.

According to Variety, CBS has agreed to give the series a pilot, with a possible series down the line if things go well. Plenty of shows don't always make it past the pilot stage but considering how popular comic book-inspired serials have been over the years, this could be an easy pickup for DC.

Rick Muirragui will write and executive produce, with Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold executive producing via Doozer Productions. Warner Bros. Television, where Doozer is under an overall deal, will produce. Muirragui has worked on the hit show Suits, so fans of that may want to check this out, assuming it actually gets a series order.

While DC's recent track record with movies has been hit-and-miss, the television shows have been received positively for the most part. Arrow and The Flash still have a lot of fans, while Black Lightning has proven to be a great alternative to those shows. Add more experimental shows like Gotham and Krypton to the mix, and it seems like DC really does well with TV.

As we wait for more news on Secret Six, fans can check out Titans on the DC Universe app and Netflix.
