DC Universe Online is Coming to Nintendo Switch This Summer

This might surprise several MMO junkies but DC Universe Online is still going. While it seemed like the DC-centric multiplayer game was going to die when it went free-to-play, it actually kept going and continues to be popular with fans to this day. Now, that reach is going to widen in a big way as Daybreak Games has confirmed to CBR that DC Universe Online (DCUO) is coming to Nintendo Switch.

While the game has been available for a number of years, coming out before and outliving the free-to-play Marvel Heroes, this is the first time DCUO will be coming to a Nintendo console. It's actually somewhat surprising to know that the game hasn't come out on the Wii U since players can still play this on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Leah Bowers, DCUO Executive Producer, knew that it would be a challenge to bring the game to this system but felt that it had to be done. Here's what she had to say about the move:

"Bringing the game to the Switch was something that's very close to my heart. Nintendo was the first console I really connected with; and yet, I associated the brand with first party or platform games. But when the switch came out, it blew my mind and highlighted the possibilities that were there."

Promising to be a fantastic jumping-on point to those that have yet to play the game, it seems like fans are in for a super experience when DC Universe Online comes to the Switch. No release date was announced but it will apparently be out this summer.
