DC Entertainment Ravaged by Massive Layoffs from WarnerMedia

COVID-19 has hit a lot of us hard and it looks like that's going to keep happening, as it has led to massive layoffs hitting WarnerMedia. Studios have been hit pretty hard with this and DC is going to be a major victim of this as a number of employees from DC Comics and DC Universe have been laid off. It's horrible stuff and our hearts go out to those who have lost their jobs.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that DC Comics Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras is gone, which is huge news since he has been around the company for many years. Mark Doyle, an Executive Editor for DC's acclaimed Black Label publishing line, was reportedly an early casualty, with Bleeding Cool calling the current situation a "bloodbath."

Other possible layoffs include Vice President, Global Publishing Initiatives & Digital Strategy Bobbie Chase, DC Editor Andy Khouri, DC Senior Story Editor Brian Cunningham, and SVP Publishing Strategy & Support Services at DC Hank Kanalz. It's also been said that a majority of staff working on DC Universe were supposedly let go as well, which means this could be the end for the streaming universe.

It's not yet known if any major DC writers and artists were fired but that doesn't appear to be the case, at least for now. This is a truly unfortunate situation and we hope that these people are able to find some new jobs sooner, rather than later. Layoffs suck in general and we wish they weren't even a thing but that's just life, I suppose.
