Cyberpunk 2077 Will Add Multiplayer Mode for Free Post-Launch

Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be a really popular game when it comes out, thanks to the hard work that CD Projekt Red puts in all of their games. Expectations are at an all-time high, thanks to The Witcher 3 doing so well, the impressive trailers we've seen thus far, and the recent reveal of Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand. What can we say, this game looks breathtaking.

While the game will launch as a single-player RPG, CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer will be added post-launch, which is huge news. No details on the multiplayer have been announced at this time but the developers are working on it and are also accepting applicants if they want to help out with the mode.

Also, the multiplayer mode will be added for free. Granted, you'll need PS Plus on PlayStation 4 or Xbox Live on Xbox One but that's just the bane of being a console gamer.

Since this is a first-person RPG, it wouldn't be out of left-field to assume that some basic FPS online modes like Capture the Flag could be added. Then again, this is an open-world, so this could be something huge, like Grand Theft Auto Online or Red Dead Redemption 2 Online. I'm just spitballing ideas but it will be interesting to see what the developers have planned.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming out on April 16, 2020.
