Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer is Going to Have Microtransactions

Microtransactions are currently one of the most controversial aspects of gaming, especially when it comes to paid games. Fans have accepted that free-to-play games like Fortnite will need microtransactions to survive, while pre-order DLC, season passes, and post-game DLC are something we've just come to expect. That being said, microtransactions for paid games like Marvel's Avengers and Star Wars Battlefront II have been a bit problematic, with many worried that something like Cyberpunk 2077 will have them.

Thankfully, CD Projekt Red has assured fans that the main single-player of Cyberpunk 2077 will not have them. However, the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer that will launch at a later date is going to have microtransactions, which fans have mixed thoughts about. Still, it's mostly fair since the multiplayer mode will be launching later and will be free so microtransactions are expected.

CD Projekt Red clarified that the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer game will be a separate project that would include microtransactions, though the studio promised to treat the money of players with respect. Fans should still wait and see if the game's multiplayer is going to be anything to write home about but we can only hope that it will be good.

After multiple delays, Cyberpunk 2077 will finally be coming out this November. The game will be coming out on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia, while the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are set to come out on a later date. Those that pick up the PS4 and Xbox One versions will get a next-gen upgrade free, depending on what version they buy.
