Crisis on Infinite Earths Producer Explains How the Crossover is Different From Avengers: Endgame

The Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover will be premiering this Sunday on December 8 and fans are pretty excited to see this massive event take place in The CW. Oddly enough, there are a number of fans who are comparing this to Avengers: Endgame since people always compare DC to Marvel and vice-versa. Thankfully, Crisis producer Marc Guggenheim has put those fans to shame by giving us a pretty solid answer.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Guggenheim says there is a scene in Crisis that is similar to the emotional scenes in Avengers: Endgame but the producer points out how Endgame is an exciting end, while Crisis is just another chapter in this long-running story. I'm wondering why he didn't point out the, well, infinite earths that are in the DC event while Endgame was mostly an epic time travel story.

"I'd say certainly for Barry and Oliver, there is an emotional denouement that is reminiscent of Endgame. Endgame is an exclamation point. ‘Crisis' is a semi-colon."

Granted, Endgame isn't the end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe but it did finish the stories of several characters. We probably won't see Chris Evans as Captain America anymore, while Robert Downey Jr has expressed how happy he is to close the Iron Man chapter of his career. We all know that Crisis is going to be the end of Stephen Amell as Green Arrow (and Arrow itself) but there will still be other DC characters to hold up the mantle.

Crisis on Infinite Earths debuts this Sunday on December 8.
