Colin Trevorrow Says Leaked Star Wars: Episode IX Art Isn't From His Version of the Movie

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker continues to be a controversial film for fans to talk about, with some saying it was a satisfying conclusion while others think it's wasted potential. Now, there are fans who want a true sequel to The Last Jedi and it seemed like Colin Trevorrow's Episode IX script was going to give us that and more. Some concept art for Episode IX was leaked recently and the former director has actually commented on the matter, stating that it wasn't for his movie.

Treverrow de-confirmed the news on his Twitter, though he did confirm that he worked with some of the artists who worked on some of the art shown. At the least, he does reveal that these artists legitimately work for LucasFilm and Disney, so that does make the leaked art seem much cooler.

For those unaware, Trevorrow's Star Wars: Episode IX script had a bunch of cool ideas that would have made The Rise of Skywalker a much better movie. From Kylo Ren dueling a phantom version of Darth Vader to Emperor Palpatine only appearing in hologram form and not being the main villain, and even revealing that Kylo Ren killed Rey's parents. So much cool stuff but Disney decided to listen to its toxic fanbase and regress on a lot of ideas.

It seems like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker won't be showing in theaters for much longer so expect a Blu-ray and digital release soon. Let's hope for some cool deleted scenes, which might make things a bit better.
