Cloak and Dagger Has Been Canceled After Two Seasons

Freeform's Cloak and Dagger was the first Marvel series to appear on the streaming service and, unfortunately, it looks like it's going to be the last one. Deadline has confirmed that Cloak and Dagger has been canceled, which is pretty disappointing since the show has gotten plenty of praise from both critics and fans. Sadly, this is par for the course when it comes to Marvel TV since everything from Daredevil to Inhumans has gotten the ax earlier than fans wanted.

At least the two characters will have a cameo appearance in Marvel's Runaways Season 3 on Hulu.

Someone from Freeform had this to say about the show's cancellation:

"We are so proud of Marvel's Cloak & Daggerand the trailblazing stories this series told. We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We'd like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and we are hopeful that we can find another project together."

It really is a shame that this series won't be returning since it showed plenty of potentials, proving that the two characters could stand on their own and don't need the constant presence of someone like Spider-Man to be relevant. With Kevin Feige now taking control over most of Marvel's media creatives, it looks like we're going to be seeing more cancellations unless he has plans for them.

On a side note, it would be amazing to see The Runaways appear in an MCU film one day.

Cloak and Dagger can be streamed on Freeform and Disney+, though the latter will depend on your country.
