Captain America and Iron Man Face Something Scary in Avengers Halloween Special #1
What happens when two Avengers enter an abandoned factory? That’s not a set-up for a joke but the premise for one of the many stories that will be appearing in Avengers Halloween Special #1. This is an interesting change of pace for the publisher since they haven’t released a season-specific holiday comic in a long time.
You might have to look back if you’re hoping to see one of the old comic book specials that like this one. The closest thing similar to this is the Christmas Gwenpool one-shot that came out a year or two ago.
As mentioned earlier, one of the stories that will be in the one-shot is a tale that features Iron Man and Captain America, who are investigating an abandoned factory that used to belong to Howard Stark. What awaits them there? Some sort of terror they’ve never faced before apparently.

Other stories in the one-shot will star Daredevil, The Punisher, and The X-Men. Oddly enough, none of these characters are currently Avengers and should make fans wonder why they put Avengers in the title.
Horror producers and writers Jen and Sylvia Soska (American Mary, See No Evil 2) will pen a story for the anthology issue along with Jay Baruchel (Goon, This is the End), who will be making his Marvel Comics debut. Gerry Duggan (Despicable Deadpool, Infinity Countdown, Infinity Wars) will also pen tales for the horror-themed issue.
Avengers Halloween Special #1 goes on sale on Oct. 31.
