Black Panther Star Martin Freeman Confirms Return For a Future MCU Film

Martin Freeman has made quite a name for himself in recent years, whether it's as Watson, Bilbo Baggins, or Everett Ross. That last one is the name of his character from Black Panther and Captain America: Civil War, though he had a bigger role in the former than in the latter. We haven't seen anything of Everett since his more prominent role in T'Challa's solo flick but it looks like we'll be seeing him again soon.

Speaking with Collider, Freeman believes that Everett Ross still has more time in the limelight and it appears to be in Black Panther 2, which makes sense. After all, the character did debut in Christopher Priest's beloved Marvel Knights run of the character so it would make sense for him to return in a Black Panther sequel.

"As far as I know, I will be [returning]. As far as I know, I will be in another Black Panther. That's my understanding. As to when that will happen, I don't know."

The real question is, did he blip out of existence or not? His lack of appearances in Avengers: Endgame has us thinking he "didn't feel so good" after the events of Infinity War. Then again, the writers could always surprise us, assuming that they even mention those events.

Black Panther 2 wasn't announced as part of Marvel's phase four films and will likely be in the studio's fifth slate.
