BioShock Creator Ken Levine Won't Be Involved in Making the New Game

Fans lost their minds when it was announced that there would be a new BioShock game, something we haven't seen since 2013's excellent BioShock Infinite. A lot of us were a bit sad that we didn't get a current-gen BioShock title, though the BioShock: The Collection did give us a nice HD update of the classics we enjoyed. However, fans might be upset to know that Ken Levine, the creator of this beloved series, will not be involved in this new title.

During an interview with GameSpot, Cloud Chamber boss Kelley Gilmore stated that they would be working with a number of the original developers but not Levine, who is currently busy with his company Ghost Story Games. It's not yet clear if Levine will at least be consulted about the project but we'll have to wait and see if that kind of progress can be made, especially since he's in a completely different company.

"Ken has his new company called Ghost Story Games. From what I understand, they're pretty immersed in creating whatever great thing they're working on, which we all know something will come out of there that's amazing as usual. So he's involved with that and he's not involved with this project."

While we wouldn't have BioShock without Ken Levine, fans are hoping that the developers in Cloud Chamber do capture the spirit of this franchise. Considering that 2K is publishing this title, there is some concern over microtransactions and the like but we're willing to be proven wrong. Please prove us wrong 2K.

No release date for the new BioShock has been revealed.
