Bethesda Accidentally Leaks Personal Information of Fallout 76 Players

Bethesda has been on a downward slope lately and things have taken a turn for the worse. Fans were already pretty upset when Fallout 76 ended up being a mediocre open-world game that didn't offer much variety but now, those same players have a lot of their personal information leaked to the public.

According to a statement from Bethesda, this wasn't a hack or anything major like that but an error that happened with customer support, though that's still not good. The gaming company promised to contact anyone who might be greatly affected by this but, for the most part, nothing major was leaked like credit card information, which is a huge blessing.

Fans are probably ticked off by this, though they can take some assurance in the fact that they won't have to change their credit card passwords or anything major like that. Still, this is an extremely sloppy job from a game company like Bethesda and should never have happened in the first place. Yes, accidents happen, but this one could have ended up so much worse.

It's been a bad year for the company, with Fallout 76 getting bad reviews and now this blunder that might cost them fan support and a possible lawsuit. Hopefully, the company learns from their mistake and tries to make amends with those that were severely affected by the move. With a Rage 2 trailer set for The Game Awards, one has to wonder what kind of reaction they will be getting tomorrow.

Fallout 76 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC but not on Steam.
