Ben Affleck Will Reportedly Follow Henry Cavill and Leave Batman Role

Fans are still shocked by the news of Henry Cavill leaving the Superman role. He's been the Man of Steel for three films and fans were hoping to see more of that but with a better director. While Cavill's exit is a pretty surprising one, the follow-up report about Ben Affleck following his Justice League co-star to the door is the exact opposite.

Reports of Affleck leaving the Batman role have been rampant since the making of the Justice League movie, so this latest tidbit is far from surprising. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck "isn't expected to reprise his role for Matt Reeves' forthcoming Batman standalone film."

Affleck actually did a solid job as Batman, capturing his voice and some of his mannerisms well. Some fans even called him the best live-action version of the character, with some putting him above Michael Keaton and Christian Bale, which is fairly surprising.

With rumors of these two roles getting younger talents, it will be interesting to see what happens to future DC movies post-Wonder Woman 1984. Shazam currently has a lot of hype and everyone is hoping that it becomes the standout hit DC needs.

Aquaman is the next DC movie scheduled for release and it is set for December.
