Avengers: Endgame's Chris Hemsworth Was 'Exhausted' With Thor Until Taika Waititi's Ragnarok

Most of us Marvel fans felt like Thor: Ragnarok, while not the best MCU installment, is the best Thor movie and it's not even close. While not downright horrible or anything like that, the two Thor films are often considered as low-tier MCU movies and most of us consider them mediocre. Turns out that lead actor Chris Hemsworth feels the same way as us fans.

Speaking with Yahoo UK, Hemsworth revealed that he was "underwhelmed" with the character until Taika Waititi came along with Thor: Ragnarok. The movie really did everything in its power to make it stand out when compared to the other movies, thanks to a heavy emphasis on comedy and some unique settings.

"When we came intoRagnarok, I was sort of exhausted of what I'd been doing and a little sort of underwhelmed by what I was putting out there.OnRagnarok, it was about breaking all the rules, and kinda going ‘as soon as it feels familiar, do something different', and Taika [Waititi] – the director – had the same vision, and the same, I guess, guts to just roll the dice and [do the] ‘anything goes' kind of thing."

It's hard to blame Hemsworth for feeling this way since the second Thor movie and both Avengers films did little to change his character from the first film. Sure, he had a lot of fun action sequences and did have a few good lines but he was usually the most underdeveloped character in these films, until Ragnarok and Infinity War at least.

Fans are hoping that Taika Waititi and Hemsworth work together again, whether it's on a possible Thor 4 or even an original film. We will see Thor's fate in Avengers: Endgame on April 26 and let's hope the character survives.
