Avengers: Endgame Directors are Interested in Helming a Star Wars Movie

Anthony and Joe Russo have quite the stock as directors thanks to their work on the MCU, with many feeling their magnum opus is Avengers: Endgame. We don't blame anyone for that since it managed to feel like a true ending for some of these characters, while also opening up some opportunities for newer characters like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel. The two directors seem to be done with Marvel, at least for now, and it will be interesting to see what they do next.

Will it be Star Wars? Well, the directors are definitely interested in this franchise as they mentioned their interest to ComicBookMovie but feel that there are too many other people working on it right now. Still, the fact that it's in the radar of The Russo Bros should get us geeks talking and they would probably fit right in with this universe.

"It's an amazing world. Certainly, at some point, it would be exciting to play in that sandbox, but I think there's a lot of stories being told in right now, and there's a lot of great filmmakers working in it at the moment."

The Russos haven't really had time to work on another big movie since Endgame, mostly due to their MCU duties and the current COVID-19 pandemic. Both of them did help produce Deadly Class for SyFy but that unfortunately only lasted for one season, which is a shame since the comic book the show was based on is incredible.

Currently, fans can check out all of the duo's MCU movies on Disney+, which is also home to all the main Star Wars films.
