Avengers: Endgame Deaths Will Not Be Retconned Anytime Soon

Death doesn't mean as much as it should in the world of comic books. Characters get to die and come back within a matter of months, sometimes years, and it sometimes cheapens the storylines they were in. Seems like Marvel Studios are aware of this as Avengers: Endgame writers have confirmed that characters like Black Widow and Iron Man will not be coming back to life.

Speaking with Empire, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely gave a variety of answers when it came to the future of Marvel. There are fans assuming that we will see Iron Man and Black Widow coming back to life but that won't be the case. Granted, the heroes who were a part of the much ballyhooed Time Heist brought back a ton of characters but they did follow a set of rules and Hulk even mentioned trying to bring back Natasha, which didn't work due to her sacrifice.

"It's the nature of the MCU. It's not a place where you can reboot one and suddenly Iron Man is 15 years old and everyone else is still the same age. The characters have to pass out, and the universe has to still stand. So if you're going to take people off the board, they've got to go for real. Granted, these are movies. I understand that somebody has made some kind of announcement that has the word 'Vision' in it, so I mean..."

Apologies to the people who made those petitions but Tony isn't coming back. He might make a brief appearance in Spider-Man: Far From Home but that should be it. In the meantime, Black Widow will have a solo movie but it will be a prequel set in the past, so no revivals there.

Expect an Avengers: Endgame Blu-Ray/digital release soon.
