Acclaimed Indie Game Cuphead Passes Three Million Sales

Cuphead was one of last year's best indie games and is arguably the number one Microsoft exclusive right now. In terms of animation alone, it's already one of the best looking video games on the market. Plus, it's the only exclusive that PS4 and Switch owners are jealous of, so if you have an Xbox One or gaming PC, get this game.

This is why it's really heartwarming to know that the game has sold tremendously well and has passed three million. Hearing an indie game do this well is awesome and bodes well for the developer's future. Sure, three million in sales doesn't sound like too much for a mainstream game but it's very good for an indie game.

As a way to celebrate, Studio MDHR has revealed that the game is now on sale for Xbox One and PC. The game is 20% off on both platforms so if you haven't checked it out, now is the time to do that. There is also DLC slated for 2019, which adds a new campaign and character.

Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand-drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.
