New Updates For Magic: The Gathering Grand Prix (Dominaria Season)

Channelfireball Events has announced the changes for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering Grand Prix starting this Dominaria season. Based on players' feedback, the company has changed all side events to 3 rounds.

First of all, the prize payouts for Grand Prix side events will be increased.

Current Prize Pool (3-Round Scheduled Events and On-Demand Events)
3-0 = 200 Prize Tix
2-0-1 = 150 Prize Tix
2-1 = 100 Prize Tix
1-1-1 = 70 Prize Tix
1-2 = 40 Prize Tix
New Prize Pool (3-Round Scheduled Events and On-Demand Events)
3-0 = 300 Prize Tix*
2-0-1 = 200 Prize Tix
2-1 = 100 Prize Tix
1-1-1 = 60 Prize Tix
1-2 = 20 Prize Tix

Those who get 3-0 in selected events may win 300 tix or a booster box of the current set. Those who make 2-0-1 will win 200 tix or 50 tix + 18 booster packs of the current set.

That's great! Hopefully, they the prize wall will have a good amount of exciting prizes for the players.

CFB Events also adjusted the prize payouts for Sunday Pro Tour Qualifier starting with Grand Prix Memphis. Here are the current prize payouts:

1st - Invitation + Flight to Pro Tour
2nd - 6 Additional current booster boxes 3rd/4th - 4 Additional current booster boxes
5th/8th - 2 Additional current booster boxes
18 Match Points - 800 Prize Tix
16-17 Match Points - 700 Prize Tix
15 Match Points - 600 Prize Tix
13-14 Match Points - 500 Prize Tix
12 Match Points - 400 Prize Tix
10-11 Match Points - 250 Prize Tix
9 Match Points - 100 Prize Tix

I'm glad that CFB Events took time to look at the players' feedback and increased the prizes for side events.

CFB Events also promise to increase support for Commander, Brawl, and Pauper. Players will also be able to play any Magic format they want on-demand with the Turbo Town one-round matches.
