New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Poster Possibly Confirms Kylo Ren Killing Leia

Fans are still wondering whether Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) will go further into the Dark Side or will he change his heart in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. After all, the latest trailer showed a shot of the First Order villain looking hesitant when it comes to pulling the trigger against the Resistance fleet, which of course, is being led by his mother, General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher). It also showed a shot of Kylo reaching out to Rey (Daisy Ridley), suggesting that he would help her fulfill her destiny. There are some fan theories claiming that Kylo Ren will be the true savior of the Galaxy (somewhat similar to Severus Snape's role in the Harry Potter series), but a new poster for The Last Jedi suggests that he'll become darker and will ultimately kill Leia.

The official Twitter page for Star Wars recently shared two new motion posters of Kylo Ren and Rey, and fans are concerned about the Kylo poster, which features the tagline, "Let the past die" and the caption says, "It's the only way to become what you are meant to be."

This led many to speculate that Kylo Ren will be ordered to kill his mother to weaken the Resistance as well as to rid himself of his heritage. However, some argue that the "past" might refer to Kylo's past crimes, including the murder of his father. This is one of those ambiguous teaser messages that trigger discussions among fans. We'll never really know until the film premieres next month. Do you think Kylo Ren will eventually kill Leia? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
