New Gintama Posters Released

There's a new set of posters for the live action version of critically acclaimed anime series Gintama.

Announced last year, the live-action film adaptation of the anime based on Hideaki Sorachi's samurai manga Gintama will be making its way to the big screen this year and according to a report by Comic Book Warner Bros. Pictures is gearing up for its big debut with a couple of brand new posters.

In the first poster we get to see Tae Shimura, the strong sister of Shinpachi. Played by Masami Nagasawa, the gil seems to hide her strength underneath her kimono and her feminine stance.

The second poster shows Gengai Hiraga, the owner of Karakuri-do played by actor Tsuyoshi Muro.

Brightly colored with a detailed background, the new posters somehow give a sense that the new film adaptation just might be as good as the film adaptation of popular and critically acclaimed historical drama anime, Rurouni Kenshin.

"In a world where aliens have invaded Edo Period Japan, skyscrapers, trains and motor bikes have replaced the simple life of Earth inhabitants. One man however, still carries the soul of a samurai, Gintoki Sakata, otherwise known as Yorozuya Gin-san. As reckless as he is, Gintoki carries his own resolve and is ready to take on any challenge with his fellow companions."

Gintama is scheduled for release on the big screen sometime in 2017.
