New Dragon Ball Series To Feature The Return of Cooler

The Dragon Ball franchise has featured unforgettable villains that made Son Goku's life harder and it looks like a famous Dragon Ball Z villain will return thanks to the upcoming anime adaptation of the Dragon Ball Heroes game.

Fans recently learned that there's a short promotional anime series coming in July, and the synopsis and logo have already been revealed. When the character bios were released, we learned that Cooler will make a comeback in the new series.

As the website for Dragon Ball Heroes revealed, Cooler will be back as a surprising ally. According to the villain's bio, Cooler will team up with Future Trunks to escape from the Prison Planet they are mysteriously locked in. Of course, it's likely that the alliance will just be temporary and Cooler will go back to his evil ways.

If you're familiar with the Prison Planet saga of Dragon Ball Heroes, you'd know that Cooler finds himself imprisoned in his final form, and he finds a way to break out of his cell eventually. Cooler and Future Trunks work together, and the villain helps Vegeta's son when Fu attacks Future Trunks following his escape.

The English dub of Dragon Ball Super currently airs on Adult Swim during Toonami programming block on Saturday nights at 9:30 pm. You can also stream it on Amazon Video and Funimation. The Japanese version can be streamed on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and VRV. The Dragon Ball Super movie is set to release in theaters this December.
