"The danger of living too many times: you forget to fear death."

Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming cyberpunk series, Altered Carbon, and it features some stunning and horrific visuals. This shows that Psychasec is a ruthless company that sells "sleeves" or bodies to the wealthiest bidder but it looks like the process comes at a deadly price.

In Altered Carbon's dystopian world, human personalities can be stored digitally and downloaded into new bodies, called sleeves. Only the wealthy people are able to get replacement bodies on a continual basis.

The series follows envoy soldier Tekeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman), who is resurrected centuries later to investigate the attempted murder of Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), the richest man on Earth. As the investigation progresses, Kovacs eventually learns that his past isn't nearly as buried as he thought.

Altered Carbon stars Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad), Kristin Lehman (The Killing), Chris Connor (Walk of Shame), Antonio Marziale (The Gay and Wonderful Life of Caleb Gallo), Hiro Kanagawa (Caprica), and James Purefoy (The Following).

Altered Carbon will premiere on Netflix on February 2, 2018. The series is said to be one of the most expensive shows Netflix has produced, at $6-7 million per episode. It's being produced and written by Avatar co-writer Laeta Koligridis.
