Netflix Negotiating With Disney To Keep Star Wars And Marvel Content On The Site

Last week, word came out that Disney was planning to pull out its movies from Netflix in preparation for the development and launch of its own streaming service platforms in the next two years.

Not only was the company planning to make its own online streaming site for its own content in 2019, it was also planning to launch an ESPN streaming service platform next year.

Aside from Disney movies, the report has Netflix subscribers also worrying about the Marvel and Star Wars content on the site, knowing that the company owns both franchises.

However, according to Reuters, Netflix is still negotiating with Disney on the matter of its Marvel and Star Wars films. Apparently the companies are still having "active discussions" on whether the popular online streaming platform can still keep its Marvel and Star Wars films on the site.

Not only does Netflix have a couple of Star Wars installments in its catalog of movies, it also has quite a number of series for Marvel Television like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. It would be terribly painful for the site to lose some of its major content, especially when it has a $17 billion programming bill to take care of.

Hopefully both companies can come to an agreement.
