Nathan Fillion Seemingly Teases Firefly Reunion Online

Though Fox canceled Firefly after its first season back in 2002, Joss Whedon's space western series continues to draw in fans. The series has become such a big cult hit, viewers continue to beg for revivals and one-off reunions.

With Firefly actor Nathan Fillion recently posting a picture of himself on Instagram having dinner with his co-stars Morena Baccarin and Alan Tudyk, fans hopes for another reunion have rekindled. Captioning the post with a "What do you want to believe we talked about?" Fillion seems to tease a possible Firefly reunion.

There have been a lot of rumors as of late that the series might get a reboot, and this post has sparked more talk of a Firefly renewal. However, all these hopes may end up as simple wishful thinking – there have been calls for a second season from fans before and Fox has already said that it would think about reviving the series if original series director Joss Whedon would be able to return and helm the series. But with the Avengers movie director moving on to work on the DC Extended Universe's Batgirl, it seems highly unlikely that Whedon will be able to spare some time for a second season of Firefly.
