Natalie Portman Open to Returning to the MCU

Jane Foster has been an inconsequential part of the MCU, and it was further proven when she was written off of Thor: Ragnarok. Natalie Portman, who plays Jane, is still open to coming back to Marvel, but as long as they ask her to.

Talking to ScreenRant, Portman says:

"I'm completely open to everything, but I have no news about that. (Laughs)."

Portman has said that she was already "done" with Marvel, and it looks like the relationship goes both ways. Marvel had already broken up the connection between Jane and Thor, and with Thor's responsibility to Asgard, it looks like there won't be any time for romance for the God of Thunder.

Though I loved Portman from Star Wars, I have to admit her Jane Foster is one of the blandest characters in the MCU. Personally, I'd much rather watch more of Jane's assistant Darcy played by Kat Dennings—who was also absent from Ragnarok.

For now, it looks like Chris Hemsworth is finally done with Marvel, thanks to Avengers 4; but he has said that he'll be open to coming back as long as they come up with a great script. Hopefully we find a good close for Thor's arc in Avengers since Ragnarok didn't really feel like an ‘ending' for the now ruler of Asgard.

Portman may not be present, but Thor does come back in Avengers: Infinity War which hits theaters May 4.
