Michael Keaton Explains The Reason Why He Left “Batman”

Most DC fans might think that Ben Afflecks batman is one of the most comicbook accurate versions of the Dark Knight in cinematic history, however there's no doubting that Michael Keaton's Batman certainly stood out.

Wearing the cowl in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman movie, the Award- winning Hollywood celebrity's version of the Caped Crusader certainly helped teach fans where to turn to when they're looking for a good Batman movie.

Now, in a recent review with The Guardian, Keaton opens up and talks about his superhero legacy, explaining why he didn't come back to do a third Batman movie after the one made by Burton.

"[The film] just wasn't any good, man. I tried to be patient, but after a certain point, I was like, I can't take this any more, this is going to be horrible. There was some really horrible taste in the 90s, and I probably contributed to that, unfortunately. It was a time of nouveau riche excess – everyone was known for their jets and their stuff. And I thought, I'm in this job for the long run, I don't want this. And the truth is, I'm not boasting, but I was correct. There are a whole load of people who ran things that are long gone."

Though things might have been different if Keaton had starred in a third Batman movie, there certainly is no doubting the power in his performance in the previous installments. It's such a shame that Keaton really didn't want to do another Batman movie after turning down the terrible third installment.

Right now Ben Affleck is set to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in the DCEU's Justice League this November 17, 2017.
