Metal Gear Director Teases Movie Information, Shares Fan Art

Video game movies are almost-always met with negative reception from critics and disappointed fans who were hoping it would be the one that changed everything. It happened with Assassin's Creed and the recent Tomb Raider reboot so fans are worried that the same fate is coming for the Metal Gear movie.

While not much progress has been made as of this writing, director Jordan Vogt-Roberts hopes his film changes things for video game adaptations. Vogt-Roberts has shown that he is a huge Metal Gear fan time and time again, seemingly making him perfect for this project. He is once again proving his fandom by sharing Metal Gear fan art and commenting on them, seemingly hinting at parts of his movie whilst celebrating the franchise's 31st anniversary.

Some of his comments are interesting but the one that will get fans buzzing involves a cyborg ninja and one of the Gekko mechas from Metal Gear Solid 4. Vogt-Roberts said he wanted to "see their potential in the same frame. Wish I could say more…" hinting that they could be in his adaptation of the video game.

Having a cyborg ninja isn't the most ridiculous part as fans know since either Gray Fox or Raiden can take up this role. For the sake of coherence, let's hope it's the first since fans aren't ready for Sons of Liberty-style craziness.

No release date for the film has been released.
